George W. Savage, 64, of Norridgewock, passed away on April 14.
Life and Career
Savage was born in Norridgewock on January 1, 1959. He was a lifelong resident of the town and a graduate of Norridgewock High School. After high school, Savage served in the United States Army for four years. He was stationed in Germany and served as a mechanic.
After his military service, Savage returned to Norridgewock and worked as a mechanic for several local businesses. He was a skilled and experienced mechanic and was known for his ability to fix any type of vehicle.
Family and Friends
Savage was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was married to his wife, Mary, for 42 years. They had two children, a son and a daughter. Savage was also a proud grandfather of four grandchildren.
Savage was a kind and caring man who always put others before himself. He was a good friend to many and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Legacy
Savage will be remembered for his love of family, his strong work ethic, and his willingness to help others. He was a pillar of the Norridgewock community and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Services
A memorial service for Savage will be held on Saturday, June 10, at 10:00 AM at the Norridgewock Congregational Church. Burial will follow at the Norridgewock Cemetery.
