Gwendolyn Marie Peyton, of Rockford departed this earthly life December 26, 2022. She was born September 12, 1966 in Rockford the daughter of Gene and Zeddie Peyton. She was employed at Milestone and as a lunch aid at Washington Elementary School. Gwendolyn accepted Christ at a early age and attended many Rockford churches. She graduated from East High School class of 1984 and later attended Job Corps.

Gwendolyn leaves to cherish many loving memories, mother, Zeddie Scott; father, Gene (Daffodil) Peyton; sister, Katrina Peyton; brother, Gene Hughes; nephews Aaron Alexander, and Isaiah Peyton; niece Zanija Peyton; great niece, Alajah; great nephew, Alijah; favorite aunt, Lizzie Mae (Curtis) Johnson and special friend, Darlene West; a host of cousins other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her grandparents.

Memorial services will be held 1:00p.m. Friday, January 13, 2022 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.  Doors will be open 12:00 noon.
