Obituary: Lonnie J. Harris, 78, of Fox Lake, IL

Lonnie J. Harris, 78, of Fox Lake, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Northwestern McHenry Hospital, McHenry, IL.

Lonnie was born on January 7, 1946, in Indiana, to Marion W. and Lottie Mae Harris. He lived in Arkansas, McHenry, IL, and Antioch, IL, before settling in Fox Lake, IL in 2009.

Before his retirement, Lonnie worked most of his life as a mechanic. He owned and operated his own custom Harley Davidson Motorcycle shop for many years.

Lonnie enjoyed riding motorcycles, watching westerns, socializing with his friends, and hanging out with his 4-legged companion “Furball”.

Lonnie is survived by his four children: Jodean “Jody” Harris-Smead of Pensacola, FL; Brian Lueth of McHenry, IL; Erin Lueth of Illinois; and Lonnie (Olivia) Harris of Antioch, IL. He is also survived by many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Lonnie was preceded in death by his son, Guy Harris, and his wife, Bonnie Harris.

A Celebration of Lonnie’s Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant a tree in Lonnie’s memory.
