Louise D. Young, Augusta Resident, Passes Away at 76
Young was a beloved member of the community and will be deeply missed.
Louise D. Young, a 76-year-old resident of Augusta, Maine, passed away on July 20, 2024, in Haverhill, Massachusetts. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Young was born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, on January 10, 1948, to parents John and Mary Young. She graduated from Haverhill High School in 1966 and went on to earn a degree in nursing from the University of Maine at Augusta.
Young worked as a registered nurse for over 40 years. She was a dedicated and compassionate caregiver, and she touched the lives of many people during her career.
In addition to her work as a nurse, Young was also an active volunteer in her community. She was a member of the Augusta Rotary Club, the Augusta Food Bank, and the Augusta Humane Society.
Young was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert Young; her two children, Susan Young and David Young; and her four grandchildren, Sarah, Emily, Matthew, and Michael.
Young will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and community. She was a kind and caring person who always put others before herself. She will be remembered for her love of life, her dedication to her work, and her unwavering commitment to her community.
Visitation and Funeral Services
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Plummer Funeral Home in Augusta, Maine.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2024, at 12 p.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Augusta, Maine.
Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Augusta, Maine.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Augusta Food Bank or the Augusta Humane Society.
