Roy Junior Hollins, of Rockford departed this earthly life December 29, 2022. He was born December 6, 1954 in Rosston, Arkansas the son of Willie and Lorene Hollins. Roy lived in Rockford since 1959 coming from Rosston. He was employed as a machine operator by Rockford Power Train 18 years. Roy was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church where he was baptized at a early age and later became a member of Liberty Baptist Church and Greater Harvest Baptist Church.  He attended Rockford West High School, later to receive his G.E.D.

Roy leaves to cherish many loving memories, three daughters, Riyasha, Naisja and Royalty Hollins; two sons, Donte Tatum and Roy Hollins; a special niece that he raised as a daughter; Brittany Box;  grandchildren, Xavier Tatum, Braylinn and Ladraya Box; mother Lorene Thrist; sister, Doris Hollins-Curtis; step brother, Alvin Thrist Jr.; special friends, Marcia Chapple and Stephanie Campbell; a host of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Willie Hollins; and step father Alvin Thrist Sr.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
