Obituary: Thomas Leroy Caswell, a Beloved Chico Resident

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Leroy Caswell, a beloved resident of Chico. Tom passed away peacefully on July 25th, 2024, at the age of 70.

Early Life and Education

Tom was born on December 2nd, 1953, in Chico, California to Shirley Torrey and Tom Caswell. He grew up in the nearby community of Nelson and attended school in Durham. Tom was a proud resident of Nelson throughout his life.

Career and Passions

Tom worked in various occupations throughout his life, including welding, mechanics, and primarily as a truck driver. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft.

Outside of work, Tom had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed spending time camping and fishing in the nearby mountains, often with his family and friends. Tom was also an avid tinkerer and could be found spending hours in his garage working on various projects.

Family and Legacy

Tom was a devoted family man. He is survived by his parents, Shirley and Tom Caswell; his son, Tommy, and his wife; his grandsons, Jackson, Aidan, and Griffin; and his sister, Terri, and her family.

Tom cherished the time he spent with his family and always prioritized their well-being. He was a loving grandfather who adored spending time with his grandsons and watching them grow.

Request and Remembrance

As per Tom’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. However, his family and loved ones will gather in a private ceremony to remember and celebrate his life.

Thomas Leroy Caswell will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the Chico community. His legacy will live on through the memories of his kindness, unwavering spirit, and love for life.
