In his later years, William found a home and a sense of purpose at SKILLS, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities. At SKILLS, William participated in various programs and activities that brought him immense joy. He enjoyed attending social events, engaging in arts and crafts, and spending time in the company of compassionate caregivers and fellow participants.
A Passion for Coloring and Nature
William’s favorite pastime was coloring. He would spend hours sitting on the porch, surrounded by the beauty of nature. As birds flitted around his feeders, William’s hands would dance across the pages of his coloring books, creating vibrant and imaginative works of art. When he was unable to venture outdoors, he would find solace in watching animal and monster truck shows on television, all the while continuing to color with unwavering enthusiasm.
A Legacy of Love and Inspiration
Throughout his life, William touched the hearts of many with his indomitable spirit and infectious joy. He is deeply missed by his sister, Jacquelyne Callahan, his niece, Julia Pesce, his nephew, John Burns, and his great-nephew, Nathan Callahan. He is also fondly remembered by his cousins, friends, and the entire SKILLS, Inc. community.
Memorial Details
A memorial mass in William’s honor will be held at St. Sebastian Church in Madison, Maine, on August 9th at 10:00 a.m. The burial will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery on Father Rasle Road.
