Passing of Gary Lee Johnson, a Beloved Husband, Father, and Christian

Gary Lee Johnson, 66, of Baileyton, passed away Tuesday, July 9th, 2024 at North Alabama Specialty Hospital. He was born August 22nd, 1957 in Gary, Indiana to Ottis and Juanita Johnson.

A Devoted Family Man

Gary was a devoted husband, father, and Christian. He loved God wholeheartedly and devoted his life to providing for his family. He was married to his beloved wife Donna Edwards Johnson for 47 years and had five sons. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family, dedicating his life to ensuring their wellbeing and happiness.

His commitment to his family was evident in every aspect of his life, from the long hours he spent working to the quality time he shared hunting and fishing with his sons.

Preceded and Survived

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Ottis Johnson. He is survived by his mother, Juanita Hulsey Lynn; wife, Donna Edwards Johnson; sons, Jeffrey (Jerrica) Johnson, Nickolas (Heather) Johnson, Kerry Johnson, Shannon (Savannah) Johnson, and Austin Johnson; siblings, Carol Yates, Danny (Robin) Johnson, Patsy (Dewayne) Mickle, David (Sherry Johnson), Christina Johnson McAlpin; and five grandchildren.

A Legacy of Faith, Love, and Hard Work

Gary’s legacy of faith, love, and hard work will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Celebration of Life Arrangements

A celebration of life visitation for Gary will be held Friday, July 12, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Moss Service Funeral Home. A celebration of life funeral service will be Held Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Moss Service Funeral Home Chapel.

Gary will be laid to rest in Mt. Vernon Primitive Baptist Cemetery, 9154 AL-69, Cullman, AL 35058.
