Gladys Aho, 92, of Lakeville, MN, Passes Away

Gladys Aho, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, auntie, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2024, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital after a hard-fought battle with a recent illness.

Early Life and Family

Glady was born on July 4, 1931, to William and Hilda (Holoppa) Paurus in Sebeka, MN. She was raised and attended school in Sebeka, where she met her husband of 56 years, Rueben. Together, they raised their five daughters, Kathlyn, Cynthia, Christine, Vicki, and Pamela, in Babbitt, MN.

Glady was a firecracker, born on the 4th of July. She was a fun, loving, kind, and giving person who loved her family more than anything. She was the glue that kept the family together and always called to check up on everyone.

Hobbies and Interests

Glady was a gifted gardener and decorator. There was nothing she couldn’t grow! Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she decorated to the hilt inside and out. She also loved shopping, craft fairs, and making crafts with her husband, Rueben.

Faith and Spirituality

Glady was a strong believer in her faith and was a member of Hosanna Church, where she made many special friends.

Legacy and Surviving Family

Glady is survived by her daughters Cindy Stepan, Vicki Thomas, and Pam (Gary) Scott; sons-in-law Mike Sever and Lonnie Gulbranson; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and siblings Clarence, Shirley, Gary (Donna), Judy (Harley), and Greg (Vickie).

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Hilda; husband Rueben; daughters Kathy Sever and Chris Gulbranson; sons-in-law Anthony Stepan and Brett Thomas; and siblings Violet, Hazel, Doris, Carol, Norman, Floyd, and Donald.

Memorial Service

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Hosanna! Church (9600 163rd ST W – DOOR 5) in Lakeville. Memorial visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10:00-11:00 AM.
