A Life Remembered

Ellen Marie Herrington, a cherished wife, devoted mother, and pillar of the Bremen community, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 1, 2024, at Cullman Regional. She was 56 years of age.

Ellen was born on November 16, 1967, and grew up in a loving family. She was known for her unwavering spirit, infectious laughter, and kind heart.

In 1987, she met the love of her life, Wayne Herrington. They wed a year later and embarked on a lifelong journey filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support.

Together, Ellen and Wayne raised two beautiful children, Alaina and Sam. She dedicated her life to being the best mother she could be, instilling in her children the same values that had shaped her own life.

Ellen was a selfless and compassionate woman who always put the needs of others before her own. She was a pillar of her community, volunteering her time and resources to countless organizations that supported children and families.

She had a deep love for nature and spent many hours tending to her garden, finding solace and joy in its beauty. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially during holidays and special occasions.

Ellen’s passing has left an immense void in the hearts of her family, friends, and the entire Bremen community. Her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Family and Friends

Ellen is survived by her beloved husband, Wayne Herrington; her cherished daughter, Alaina Herrington; her adored son, Sam Herrington; and two loving sisters, Mackenzie Dan and Michelle Neal.

She will also be deeply missed by her extended family, including her aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as numerous friends who considered her a true sister.

A Final Farewell

There will be no formal services held at this time. However, a celebration of Ellen’s life will be planned in the near future, where her family, friends, and the entire community can come together to honor her memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ellen’s name to her favorite charity, the Children’s Hospital of Alabama.
