Linda Mae Dolloff, 79, Passes Away Peacefully

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Mae Dolloff, a beloved resident of Norway, Maine. Linda passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the age of 79, surrounded by her loving family at the Norway Center for Health and Rehabilitation.

Born on June 15, 1945, in Rumford, Maine, Linda was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Smith) Doe. She grew up in a close-knit family, attended local schools, and graduated from Rumford High School in 1963. After graduation, Linda pursued her passion for helping others by enrolling in nursing school at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine.

In 1967, Linda began her nursing career at the Rumford Community Hospital, where she dedicated herself to providing compassionate care to her patients for over 30 years. Her dedication and unwavering spirit made her a respected and beloved member of the nursing staff.

Outside of her professional life, Linda was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Bridgton, Maine. She found great joy in participating in church activities, volunteering her time, and being a part of the church community.

Linda was also a passionate gardener who loved spending time tending to her beautiful flowerbeds and vegetable patch. She had a natural talent for growing plants and took great pride in her garden’s beauty and bounty.

Above all, Linda was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She married her high school sweetheart, Richard Dolloff, in 1968, and together they raised two wonderful children, John and Sarah.

Linda’s legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will continue to live on through her family and the many lives she touched throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Upcoming Services

Memorial services for Linda Mae Dolloff will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., at the First Congregational Church, 33 S. High Street, Bridgton, Maine. A time of refreshment will follow the service.

The interment will be held at Rumford Center Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.

Arrangements are under the care of Chandler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 8 Elm Street, Bridgton, Maine.
