Marilyn Harding Levesque was born on April 25, 1932, in China, Maine, to Lawrence and Gladys Harding. She grew up in a loving home alongside her five siblings, enjoying the idyllic surroundings of China Lake. In 1951, she graduated from Erskine Academy, where she met her future husband, William Levesque. They married on October 6, 1951, and went on to have 12 children together, creating a close-knit and vibrant family.
Nurturing Spirit
Marilyn’s life was defined by her nurturing spirit. She was the heart of her large family, always present for every milestone and celebration. With her exceptional memory, she knew every birthdate, anniversary, graduation, and wedding by heart. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren felt her unwavering love and support, knowing that she would always be there for them.
Dedicated Caregiver
Marilyn’s compassion extended beyond her family to her work as a Nursing Assistant. She dedicated over 25 years to providing care and comfort to countless individuals in various facilities, including Bethany Nursing Home in Albion and others in Yarmouth and Massachusetts. Her gentle touch and empathetic nature made her a true caregiver, offering solace and support to those in need.
Community Involvement
In her retirement, Marilyn continued to make a positive impact on her community. She volunteered as a Foster Grandparent at the Great Falls School in Gorham, Maine, for 10 years, where she became known as “Grammie Marilyn” to dozens of children. Her love for children and her desire to make a difference in their lives were evident in her daily interactions.

Funeral Arrangements
A service to celebrate Marilyn’s life will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the Blessed Hope Advent Christian Church in Waterville, Maine. Following the service, a brief ceremony will be held at St. Francis Cemetery in Waterville. Attendees are invited to return to the Family Life Center attached to the church for a time of fellowship and remembrance.
