Obituary: Isabella Louise Witham

Isabella Louise Witham, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2023, at the age of 87. Isabella was born on September 15, 1935, in Waterville, Maine, to John and Mary Smith. She graduated from Waterville High School in 1953 and married her high school sweetheart, Robert Witham, in 1955. Together, they raised three children in the town of Winslow.

Isabella was a dedicated homemaker who took great pride in her family and her home. She was an excellent cook and baker, and her family always looked forward to her homemade meals and desserts. Isabella was also a talented seamstress, and she enjoyed making clothes for her children and grandchildren.

Isabella was a devout Catholic and an active member of St. John the Baptist Church in Winslow. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society and the Rosary Sodality. Isabella also volunteered her time at the local soup kitchen and food pantry.

Isabella was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 68 years, Robert; her children, John Witham of Winslow, Mary Witham of Augusta, and James Witham of Waterville; her grandchildren, Sarah, Elizabeth, and William; and her great-grandchildren, Sophia and Ethan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 10:00 am at St. John the Baptist Church in Winslow. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. John the Baptist Church, 26 Monument Street, Winslow, ME 04901.
