Jaudon William Wiggins, affectionately known as “Don,” passed away peacefully on May 15th, 2024, at the age of 90. Born in Duncanville, Alabama in 1933, he lived a remarkable life filled with love, adventure, and unwavering integrity.

Early Life and Military Service

Don spent his childhood in Alabama, where he developed a passion for his beloved Crimson Tide. He served his country with honor as a paratrooper in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Marriage and Family

While on leave, Don met Carolyn Ruth McGukin, who would become his wife of 60 years. Together, they welcomed their daughter, Nancy Carol Wiggins Webb, and raised her in Cullman, Alabama.

Career and Community Involvement

Throughout his life, Don held various jobs to support his family. He was a skilled auto body mechanic, worked in the motorcycle industry, and retired from Americold Corporation. He also dedicated time to serving his community as a member of the Cullman County Rescue Squad.

Personality and Passions

Don was known for his generous and compassionate heart. He enjoyed the company of animals, had a sense of adventure, and never hesitated to make new friends. His integrity and honesty were unwavering.

Legacy

Don will be dearly missed by his daughter, Nancy; grandson, Jeremy; siblings, Lee Ondis “Bill,” Zoe, and Larry; and extended family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and service to his community.

Memorial Details

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 20th, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Andrews Global Methodist Church in Cullman, Alabama. Funeral services will follow immediately at 2 p.m. A brief graveside service with military honors will be held at the Cullman City Cemetery.
