Joan Burleson was born on March 15, 1941, in Cullman, Alabama, to John and Mary Smith. She grew up in a loving home with her two siblings, James and Sarah. Joan attended Cullman High School, where she excelled in her studies and was a member of the cheerleading squad.
After graduating high school, Joan met the love of her life, David Burleson. They were married on June 10, 1961, and went on to have three children: John, Mary, and David Jr.
Joan was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, cooking, and gardening. She was also an active member of her community, volunteering at the local library and soup kitchen.
Joan will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and generosity. She was always willing to help others, and she always put others before herself.
