Marguerite was born on June 1, 1930, in Gardiner, Maine. She grew up in a close-knit family and attended local schools. As a young woman, Marguerite met the love of her life, Ronald Atkins, and they married in 1949. They shared 62 wonderful years together, raising a family and creating countless memories.
Marguerite dedicated her life to her family. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother to her two children, Scott and Susan. She cherished her role as a grandmother to her three grandchildren, Jessica, Emily, and David, and her great-granddaughter, Olivia. Marguerite’s home was always filled with laughter, love, and the aroma of freshly baked cookies.

Marguerite had a strong faith in God and was an active member of the South Gardiner Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and volunteered her time to help those in need. Her unwavering faith provided her with strength and comfort throughout her life.

A graveside service to honor Marguerite’s life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Mount Hope Cemetery in South Gardiner. The service will be followed by a reception where friends and family can gather to share stories and celebrate her memory.
