Billy Gene Estes, a pillar of the Vallejo community and a devoted family man, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2024, at the age of 88. Born in Oklahoma on October 6, 1935, Billy proudly carried his Chickasaw heritage throughout his life.

From a young age, Billy displayed a remarkable spirit of service. He moved to Vallejo, California, where he proudly served in the National Guard and as a volunteer firefighter. His bravery and dedication to the community were evident in every role he undertook.

Billy’s professional life was equally marked by his strong work ethic and commitment to his colleagues. He worked at C&H Sugar before retiring from the Shell Oil refinery, where he was highly regarded for his exceptional contributions.

A Sports Enthusiast and Family Legacy

Beyond his dedication to his community and family, Billy was also an avid sports enthusiast. His passion for football began in his high school days, and he remained a loyal San Francisco 49ers fan throughout his life.

Billy’s greatest joy came from his family. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Kelli and Susan; cherished grandchildren, Nicole, Heather, Christian, and Matthew; and precious great-granddaughter, LucĀ”a. He also leaves behind his siblings, Kenneth, Ruth, Galen, Richard, Linda, and Gary, as well as his nephew, Mike Lucas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Legacy of Love and Respect

Billy Estes’ legacy is one of love, respect, and the deep connections he fostered with those around him. His unwavering support for his family and his commitment to his community will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Geneva Estes, and his siblings, Geraldine, Arvard, James, Katherine, and Curtis. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to inspire and guide those who had the privilege of knowing him.
