Diane H. Van Deventer

April 15, 1928 – June 24, 2023

Diane H. Van Deventer, 95, of Winslow, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2023. She was born on April 15,
1928, in Waterville, Maine, the daughter of John and Mary (Smith) Doe.

Diane was a lifelong resident of Winslow and graduated from Winslow High School. She worked for many years as
a secretary at Scott Paper Company in Winslow. She was a devoted member of St. Bridget’s Church in North
Vassalboro and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Diane was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, John Van Deventer, and her brother, John Doe Jr. She is
survived by her two children, John Van Deventer Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Winslow, and Mary Van Deventer of
Winslow; four grandchildren, John Van Deventer III and his wife, Sarah, of Winslow, Mary Van Deventer of
Winslow, John Doe III and his wife, Mary, of Winslow, and Mary Doe of Winslow; and two great-grandchildren,
John Van Deventer IV and Sarah Van Deventer.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Bridget’s Center in
North Vassalboro. Burial will follow at St. Bridget’s Cemetery.
