Obituary: Phillip Dale Tedrick, D.O.
Thomaston Resident, 80
Phillip Dale Tedrick, D.O., 80, of Thomaston, passed away peacefully in his home on March 8, 2023. Born in Augusta, Maine, on July 15, 1942, to parents John and Mary Tedrick, Phillip grew up in a loving and supportive home.
Phillip attended local schools and graduated from Cony High School in 1960. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine in 1964 and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1968. After completing his medical training, Phillip returned to Maine and established a successful practice in Thomaston.
Dedicated Physician
Phillip was a dedicated and compassionate physician who cared deeply for his patients. He was known for his exceptional medical knowledge, his bedside manner, and his unwavering commitment to providing the best possible care. Phillip’s practice encompassed a wide range of medical disciplines, from family medicine to geriatrics. He was a trusted advisor and confidant to countless patients throughout his career.
Community Involvement
Beyond his medical practice, Phillip was actively involved in his community. He served on the Thomaston Planning Board for many years and was instrumental in shaping the town’s development. Phillip was also a member of the Thomaston Rotary Club and the American Osteopathic Association. He dedicated countless hours to volunteering and giving back to the community he loved.
Beloved Husband and Father
Phillip is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Barbara Tedrick, and their two children, Phillip Jr. and Sarah. He was a devoted husband and father who cherished the time he spent with his family. Phillip’s grandchildren, John, Mary, and Emily, brought him immense joy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service for Phillip will be held on Saturday, March 18, at 10:00 AM at the Thomaston Baptist Church, 123 Main Street, Thomaston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Thomaston Historical Society, P.O. Box 341, Thomaston, ME 04861.
