It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William Michael Weems, 69, of Hanceville, Alabama, on July 12, 2024. Mike, as he was affectionately known, went peacefully to be with Jesus, surrounded by his devoted family and a multitude of cherished loved ones.
A Life Dedicated to Faith and Family
Mike was a man of deep and unwavering faith, whose love for the Lord radiated into every aspect of his life. He lived by the principle of “Always preach the gospel, if necessary, use words!” and inspired countless individuals with his unwavering conviction and compassionate heart.
Born and raised in Gardendale, Alabama, Mike met the love of his life, Donna Freeman, at a young age. Their marriage of 50 years was a testament to their enduring love and shared values. Mike was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and his family was his greatest source of joy.
A Legacy of Love and Service
Mike’s unwavering faith extended into his service to others. He was a dedicated member of Crosshaven Church in Hanceville, where he actively shared his love for Christ and encouraged others to grow in their spiritual journey. His warmth and kindness extended to everyone he met, and he always made time to listen, support, and inspire.
A Celebration of Life and Legacy
In honor of Mike’s cherished life, a celebration of life will be held on August 3rd from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Crosshaven Church in Hanceville, Alabama. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Mike are invited to join in this heartfelt gathering to celebrate his legacy of love, faith, and service.

His spirit will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched with his unwavering love, kindness, and Christ-like example.
