Obituary: Frances Ruth Jackson, Cherished Matriarch of Cullman
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frances Ruth Jackson, a beloved member of the Cullman community. Frances
peacefully passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the age of 91.
Frances was born in Cullman on January 10, 1933, to John and Mary Smith. She grew up in a loving home, surrounded by her
siblings. Frances attended Cullman High School, where she excelled in her studies and made lifelong friends.
After graduating high school, Frances met the love of her life, William Jackson. They were married in 1955 and spent 50
wonderful years together, raising a family and building a life filled with love and laughter.
A Devoted Matriarch
Frances was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cherished her family above all else and made
countless sacrifices to ensure their well-being. Frances was always there for her loved ones, providing support, guidance, and
unconditional love.
Her home was always filled with warmth and hospitality. Frances loved to cook and bake, and her family and friends eagerly
anticipated her famous homemade meals and desserts. She also had a passion for gardening and spent many hours tending to her
beautiful flowers.
Active in the Community
Frances was an active member of her community. She was a faithful member of Spring Hill Baptist Church, where she served in
various capacities. Frances was also involved in the Cullman Garden Club and the Cullman County Historical Society. She was
passionate about preserving the history of her hometown and played an instrumental role in many local initiatives.
Frances’s legacy will live on through her family and the countless lives she touched throughout her life. She will be deeply
missed by all who knew her.
Funeral Arrangements
Visitation for Frances Ruth Jackson will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Moss-Service Funeral
Home Chapel, located at 1901 2nd Avenue NW, Cullman, Alabama 35058.
The funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM, also at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Fellowship at
Spring Hill Cemetery, 5383-5399 US-278, Cullman, AL 35057.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Spring Hill Baptist Church Building Fund or the Cullman
County Historical Society.
