Devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather
GARDINER – Richard Phillip McGlinn passed away peacefully at Maine General Health in Augusta on April 21, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Early Life and Career
Richard was born in Portland, Maine, to Geraldine Lyons McGlinn and Phillip Richard McGlinn. He attended local schools and later worked for Bath Iron Works Local 6 for 30 years, retiring in 2005.
Family and Legacy
Richard’s greatest source of pride and joy was his family. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Rowena Amy Sprague McGlinn “Rosie,” and a loving father to his two daughters, Karen Lynn McGlinn and Vickie Nadeau (Dalen). He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Ryleigh Lynn, Isabella Lilly, Charles Matthew, and Dale Norman; great-grandchildren, Eli Floyd and Raelyn Willow; and his sister, Janice McAtee.
Celebration of Life
Per Richard’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be determined.
