Augusta Resident Steven “Steve” S. Kaplan Passes Away at 66

Obituary

Steven “Steve” S. Kaplan, a longtime resident of Augusta, Maine, passed away peacefully on July 17th at the age of 66. Steve was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.

Steve was born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 15th, 1956. He moved to Augusta with his family as a child and graduated from Cony High School in 1974. After high school, Steve attended the University of Maine at Orono, where he earned a degree in business administration.

After college, Steve returned to Augusta and began his career in the banking industry. He worked for several years at Depositors Trust Company before joining TD Bank, where he spent the majority of his career. Steve was a dedicated and hardworking employee, and he was well-respected by his colleagues and customers.

Outside of work, Steve was an avid sports fan. He loved the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, and he enjoyed attending games with his family and friends. Steve was also a talented golfer, and he spent many hours on the golf course with his buddies.

Steve’s greatest joy in life was his family. He was a devoted husband and father, and he loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Steve was always there for his family, and he always put their needs before his own.

Steve was a kind and compassionate man who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a true friend, a loving husband and father, and a valued member of the Augusta community.

Visiting Hours

Visiting hours for Steve will be held on Thursday, July 30th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Staples Funeral Home in Gardiner, Maine.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Steve’s memory.
