Susan Marie Evans, 61, of Cullman, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Early Life and Family

Susan was born on January 13, 1963, in Cullman, Alabama, to Billy Joe Gable Sr. and Gladys Marie Baker Gable. She grew up in a loving home with her parents and two brothers.

Susan met her husband, Phillip Evans, in their early twenties and they married in 1985. They had one daughter, Brandy Wilson.

Education and Career

Susan attended Cullman High School and graduated in 1981. She went on to pursue a degree in nursing from Wallace State Community College and graduated in 1985.

Susan worked as a registered nurse for over 30 years, caring for patients in various settings including the hospital, home health, and long-term care.

Community Involvement

Susan was an active member of her community, serving as a volunteer for several organizations, including the American Red Cross, the Humane Society, and the local food bank.

She was also a member of the Missionary Grove Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.

Hobbies and Interests

Susan enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her granddaughter, Aubrey. She also loved to read, travel, and garden.

Legacy

Susan was a kind and compassionate person who always put others before herself. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and community.

Funeral Arrangements

A funeral service for Susan will be held at Missionary Grove Baptist Church on Monday, August 5, 2024, at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m., with interment following at Missionary Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
