William Barbeau, Beloved Resident of Hinckley, Passes Away at 84
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Barbeau, a beloved member of the Hinckley community. William passed away peacefully on July 23, 2024, at the age of 84.
A Life Well-Lived
William Barbeau was born in Hinckley, Maine, on March 15, 1940. He grew up in the town and graduated from Hinckley High School in 1958. After graduation, William served in the United States Army for two years. Upon his return to Hinckley, he worked at the local paper mill for over 30 years. William was a dedicated employee and a respected member of the community.
In 1965, William married the love of his life, Mary Jane. Together, they raised a family of three children. William was a loving husband and father, and he always put his family first. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and he was always there to support them in their endeavors.
William was also a devoted member of St. Sebastian’s Church in Madison. He was a lector and a member of the parish council. William was always willing to lend a helping hand, and he was a source of strength and support for many people.
Service Information
A Mass of Christian Burial for William Barbeau will be held at St. Sebastian’s Church in Madison on August 9, 2024, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the Hinckley Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Hinckley Community Center after the burial.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hinckley Fire Department or to St. Sebastian’s Church.
