Oroville, CA – Oroville mourns the untimely passing of its beloved resident and dedicated employee, William “Willy” Lawrence Clark. Willy passed away peacefully on December 15, 2023, after a valiant battle with cancer, surrounded by his adoring family.
A Life Embodied in Oroville
Born on January 23, 1962, Willy spent his life in the Oroville community that he cherished. He attended local schools, forging lifelong friendships that would remain steadfast throughout his years. Willy’s deep-rooted connections to Oroville extended beyond his personal life. He proudly served as a long-time employee of the City, dedicating his time and energy to the well-being of his hometown.
Legacy of Hard Work and Family
Willy’s work ethic was legendary. He tirelessly contributed to the City’s growth and progress, leaving an enduring mark on Oroville’s infrastructure and community services. Beyond his professional achievements, Willy was a devoted family man. He was a loving husband to Esther Clark and a dedicated father to his children: Heather Maynard, Shaunte Shaw, William “Bubba” Clark, Janelle and Brian DeClair, Jett Clark, and Chelsie and Christopher Bennett.

Willy’s infectious smile, quick wit, and unwavering spirit will be forever etched in the hearts of those who knew him. He had a knack for making everyone feel welcome and valued, leaving an imprint on countless lives throughout Oroville. His love of the outdoors, hunting, and Harley-Davidson motorcycles brought him immeasurable joy.

Celebration of Life
To honor Willy’s memory, the family will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Rotary Park in Oroville. All who knew and cherished Willy are encouraged to attend and share their cherished memories.
