At least five skiers were injured after falling from the Comet Express chairlift at Heavenly Mountain Resort in Lake Tahoe, California, according to officials. Three of the injuries resulted from falls of approximately 30 feet onto the snow. The incident occurred when the chair the skiers were riding in slid backward, colliding with the chair behind it. All five injured skiers were transported to local hospitals. A resort spokesperson stated, “The safety of our guests is our top priority and the resort is investigating the incident.” This is a developing story.
