The Penticton Vees extended their winning streak to 19 games with an 11-2 triumph over the West Kelowna Warriors on Friday at the SOEC.

Brothers Bradly and Josh Nadeau showed off their skills with a combined five points for the game, including the second career hat trick and four points in the win for Bradly. Older brother Josh scored twice in the box.

Aydar Suniev, Ryan Hopkins and Josh Niedermayer each had three points. 11 Vees had multi-point games and all but three skaters had at least one point.

The Vees had a close decision early in the first game, with the Warriors close to an early lead, but quick thinking from the Vees captain kept the score scoreless.

Penticton opened with three goals in two minutes and five seconds, Brett Moravec scoring first at 4:09, then Aydar Suniev 27 seconds later, then Josh Nadeau scored on the power play at 6:14.

West Kelowna responded with two less than two minutes late in the first period to close the deficit by a goal. Ben MacDonald scored off a breakaway for the Warriors to make it 3-1, and one minute and 42 seconds later Rylee Hlusiak scored to make it 3-2.

Early in the second game, with the Vees leading 3-2, Ryan Hopkins saved a goal with a diving shot that sent the goalie out of the net.

Josh and Bradley Nadeau each scored a goal. along with Thomas Pichette and Hopkins as the Vees led 7-2 late in the middle quarter.

Bradley scored twice in the third period to complete the hat trick. Niedermayer and Hiroki Gojsic scored goals one after the other in the power play game and thus increased the goal.

The Vees’ 11 goals are a season high, surpassing their previous record of 10, also accomplished against the Warriors.

Penticton takes on the Prince George Spruce Kings Saturday night at 6pm at the SOEC.
