A six-hour standoff between a man and law enforcement in Northwest Harris County ended early Saturday morning with the man’s arrest. Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies and SWAT team members responded to a home on the corner of Magnolia Lead Street and Harvest Dale Avenue around 9:30 PM Friday, January 3rd, following a call from a woman.
The woman reported that her 14-month-old child was inside the home with the child’s father, who had threatened to harm the child if she contacted authorities. Negotiations continued throughout the night.
At 2:20 AM, the child was safely released to investigators, and the man was taken into custody. He is currently facing felony charges of assault and family violence. Further details regarding the incident are pending.
