Chicago police reported a fatal shooting in the South Chicago neighborhood on Sunday morning. The incident occurred just after 9:15 a.m. in the 8000 block of South Escanaba Avenue. A 48-year-old man was shot while standing in an alley. He was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead. No arrests have been made, and Area Two detectives are currently investigating the case.
