A 56-year-old man died Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle on the Clearview Expressway in Fresh Meadows, Queens. The incident occurred just before 8:50 a.m. on the northbound ramp to the Long Island Expressway (LIE) westbound. Police say the man was involved in a minor collision on the ramp. He exited his vehicle to assess the damage when he was struck by another car, becoming pinned between the two vehicles.
The victim was transported to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle that struck him remained at the scene. The ramp from the northbound Clearview Expressway to the LIE westbound was closed while authorities investigated the accident.
