North Andover Woman Dies Unexpectedly at Brigham and Women’s Hospital

Rachel Jacobson, 43, was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend

North Andover, MA – Rachel Jacobson, 43, of North Andover, MA passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 24, 2024 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Jacobson was born in Melrose, MA, the daughter of Sandra (Godo) Jacobson of Dunstable and the late Robert H. Jacobson. She graduated from Groton Dunstable High School, Groton, MA, with the class of 1999. Jacobson went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts Lowell Campus, where she was a Dean’s list graduate. She was also attending Rivier College, Nashua, NH, to become a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatric Health and was posthumously awarded her MSN.

Jacobson was employed by Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence, MA. Prior to that, she was a traveling nurse all over the country, including Denver, CO, where she lived for ten years.

Jacobson was an elite athlete who loved the outdoors, especially biking and hiking. She also volunteered with many charities, including a recent trip to Africa to provide medical help with her classmates.

Besides her mother, Jacobson is survived by her brother Kyle and his wife Kristen Jacobson of Dunstable, MA, her sisters Carla Jacobson of Chelmsford, MA and Sara and her husband Michael Boucher of Chelmsford, MA, her maternal grandfather Robert Godo of Nashua, NH, paternal grandmother Lillian Donner-Jacobson of West Haven, CT, as well as seven nieces and one nephew that she adored.

Jacobson was predeceased by her father, Robert H. Jacobson, who died May 5, 2024.

A celebration of life will be held on June 23, 2024 at Alpine Grove in Hollis, NH from 1-6PM.
