Gale Louise Hutchins, 81, of Onset, passed away peacefully at home on June 4, 2024. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Early Life and Career

Gale was born in Wareham, Massachusetts, to Parker and Alice Louise Selig. She graduated from Bourne High School and began her career as a hairdresser. Later, she owned and operated an in-home day care in Dracut for many years before retiring and working at the Walmart Garden Center in Wareham.

Personal Life

Gale married Bruce Linwood Hutchins, the love of her life, in the late 1950s. The couple had three children: Kenneth, Tamara, and William. In retirement, they moved to Onset and enjoyed the beautiful beaches and waters of the bay.

Passions and Hobbies

Gale had a passion for creating dried flower arrangements, which she sold at craft fairs. She was also an outstanding cook, baker, and loved to entertain family and friends. She was an avid bridge player and a member of the Sippican Tennis Club.

Legacy

Gale’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was a loving and supportive wife, mother, and grandmother, always there for those she loved. Gale’s legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Celebration of Life

A celebration of Gale’s life will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at her home in Onset. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Dracut Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 117, Dracut, MA 01826.
