Nagar Kurnool District Medical and Health Officer, Dr. K.V. Swarajyalakshmi, conducted surprise inspections on Saturday of several healthcare facilities within the district. These included Desi Itikala Bastii Hospital, and the Primary Health Centers (PHCs) in Pedda Muddanur, Vennacherla, Kodair, and Pedda Kothapalli, as well as the sub-health centers in Nakkalapalli and Pasupula.

At Desi Itikala village, Dr. Swarajyalakshmi oversaw the vaccination drive, emphasizing the crucial goal of achieving 100% childhood immunization. She stressed the importance of accurate record-keeping, instructing staff to ensure all vaccination details for pregnant women and children were meticulously entered into the U-WIN portal.

Her inspections of the PHCs involved reviewing attendance registers, vaccine stock levels, and other relevant records. Dr. Swarajyalakshmi directed staff to prioritize increasing the number of institutional deliveries and to focus on early identification of high-risk pregnant women, developing comprehensive plans to ensure their safe motherhood. She also promoted the utilization of 102 ambulance services for prenatal check-ups and child immunizations, and mandated the online entry of seasonal disease data onto the IHIP portal.

Further highlighting preventative measures, Dr. Swarajyalakshmi urged the implementation of screening tests for hypertension and diabetes for all individuals over 30 years of age visiting the hospitals, aiming to curb the prevalence of chronic diseases.
