This recipe yields delicious rava paniyaram (rava appam). Begin by combining ½ an onion, 1 carrot, ½ a tomato, 2 tablespoons of chopped coriander, a few curry leaves, and 2 chilies. Mix thoroughly to ensure all ingredients are well incorporated.
Next, add ½ teaspoon of Eno fruit salt (or alternatively, baking soda) and 2 tablespoons of water to the mixture. Gently stir until a light and frothy batter forms.
Heat your appe pan and add a small amount of oil to each individual mold. Once the pan is adequately heated, carefully pour the prepared rava batter into each mold.
Cover the pan and simmer for approximately 5 minutes. Continue cooking over low to medium heat until the paniyaram turn a beautiful golden brown. Flip them to cook evenly on both sides.
Serve your freshly made rava paniyaram hot with your favorite chutney. Enjoy!
