In interviews and podcasts, Patel has explicitly stated his intention to target judges, lawyers, and journalists he deems responsible for undermining Trump. He has even produced children’s books promoting election conspiracy theories and established a foundation to defend those involved in the January 6th Capitol attack. The New Orleans attack, in which a former US Army veteran pledging allegiance to ISIS drove a truck into a crowd on Bourbon Street, underscores the gravity of the situation and the critical need for a competent and experienced leader at the helm of the FBI. Federal agents have revealed that the attacker had also planted unexploded homemade bombs at the scene. This incident highlights the urgency of the need for effective leadership within the FBI, a need that Schiff believes Patel is ill-equipped to fulfill.
