Search continues for missing canyoner in Blue Mountains

The man is believed to have encountered difficulty in the Wollangambe River, part of the Hawkesbury–Nepean catchment, yesterday afternoon. 

Police said the man was part of a larger group and all others involved made their way out of the area.

The search will resume at Mt Wilson at 7am today.

Police were called to the area around 5:00pm yesterday.

The two women were dragged into a whirlpool while canyoning in January.

The Blue Mountains lies west of Sydney and is known for its soaring sandstone cliffs and remote bushland.
