The Tri-State Area Braces for a Week of Cold and Potential Snow
A cold and cloudy Monday is in store for New York City, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, with periods of light snow. The immediate NYC area is expected to receive only a coating to an inch of accumulation, while areas south of the city have a higher chance of seeing more significant snowfall. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for parts of central New Jersey, including Ocean County, and a Winter Storm Warning is issued for much of South Jersey. Residents in these areas should be prepared for potentially hazardous travel conditions.
The cold snap will persist throughout the week, with daytime temperatures hovering around freezing, but feeling much colder due to strong winds. Expect wind chills in the teens and twenties. While a light dusting of snow is possible next weekend as a system approaches from the south, the immediate forecast shows no major snow events until then.
