Weather Alert: Texas Tornado Outbreak

Texas experienced a significant number of tornadoes this year. As of Friday morning, five tornadoes have been confirmed, though dozens of reports were filed. Meteorologist Justin Stapleton notes that many reports may refer to the same tornado tracked across different locations.
KPRC 2 Digital Producer Christian Terry provided extensive coverage of the severe weather Thursday night. Numerous viewers shared photos and videos of suspected tornadoes across Southeast Texas, including Liberty County, and one possible tornado crossing Lake Houston. Two homes in southwest Houston sustained damage from a possible tornado.
The National Weather Service is scheduled to assess the damage later today, and updates will be provided as they become available.
Looking Ahead: Houston is expected to experience a much-needed break from rain and storms on Friday, at least for the time being.
