A Texas teenager, Aubrey Vanlandingham, has been charged with cruelty to livestock animals. Police arrested her late last month after reviewing security footage that allegedly shows her using a drench gun to administer toxic pesticide to a classmate’s show goat named Willie. The footage, obtained at Vista Ridge High School’s barn facility in Cedar Park, Texas, shows Vanlandingham administering the pesticide.
Prosecutors allege that Willie died approximately one day later, exhibiting symptoms such as convulsions and respiratory distress. They contend Vanlandingham “intentionally and knowingly tortured a livestock animal.” An arrest affidavit, first reported by CBS Austin, states that Vanlandingham confessed to poisoning the goat, claiming it was her second attempt because she believed the goat’s owner’s daughter was a “cheater.”
Prior to Willie’s death, police say Vanlandingham searched her phone for information on lethal animal poisons and methods for clearing her search history. She was released on a $5,000 bond. TMZ has reached out to Vanlandingham’s legal representatives for comment but has yet to receive a response.
