A Life of Achievement and Adventure Tommy Gardner

Tommy Gardner, born on August 1, 1959, set a high bar early in life. His remarkable journey began with a scholarship to the University of Texas, stemming from his graduation from Richfield High School in 1968. At the university, he distinguished himself as the Southwest Conference Champion in Cross Country Running, rounding off his academic pursuits with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education.

The call of the mountains lured Tommy to Colorado, where his days were split between his role at the Laurelwood Condominiums in Snowmass and his true passion: skiing. His dedication to the slopes was unwavering, as he spent countless hours navigating challenging terrains, later sharing his love for skiing as a SKI Ambassador.

Tommy’s creativity and determination were embodied in the home he designed and built in Old Snowmass, overlooking the scenic Snowmass Mountain. This dream home was not just a residence but a testament to his ability to realize his visions.

The Heart of Every Party

Tommy’s infectious spirit made him a memorable presence. He was a man whose dance moves were an open invitation to joy, and his humor and competitive spirit were as legendary as his collection of eclectic items.

A Fond Farewell

Tommy Gardner is survived by his brother, William, and leaves behind a legacy of a life richly lived and cherished. His memorial service, scheduled for November 9th, 2023, at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, will be a celebration of a life that, while no longer present in body, continues to inspire through memory and story.

Tommy Gardner’s passing is a poignant reminder of the fleeting nature of life, but also of the enduring impact one person can have on the world around them. He will be laid to rest at the Resurrection Cemetery, but his spirit will forever dance on the peaks of Snowmass and in the hearts of those he touched.
