At CES 2024, LG unveiled its ambitious plan to integrate AI across its entire product range, encompassing home, automotive, and office devices. A key highlight of this announcement was the launch of a new audio brand, “xboom by will.i.am,” a collaboration with the renowned musician and tech entrepreneur.
Will.i.am, appointed as the “experiential architect” for the brand, personally oversaw the development of the xboom line, aiming to establish it as a culturally relevant force in sound and design. The range includes Bluetooth speakers and wireless earbuds, each meticulously tuned by will.i.am himself for a warmer, more balanced audio profile. These smart speakers leverage AI to analyze playing content, dynamically adjusting the sound to optimize melody, rhythm, or vocals. An integrated AI-powered lighting feature adds ambiance with multicolored, synchronized pulsing lights. Furthermore, AI calibration ensures optimal sound dispersal in various indoor and outdoor environments.
Adding another layer of innovation, all xboom by will.i.am products integrate with will.i.am’s RAiDiO.FYI, an AI-driven interactive radio platform. As will.i.am explained at the CES press conference, “It’s about reimagining what a speaker is supposed to be… about moving from passive listening to active engagement because we put the AI in radio.” This marks a significant step toward more intelligent and interactive media experiences.
Beyond CES, will.i.am is scheduled for a keynote conversation at the Variety Entertainment Summit on January 8th. Meanwhile, his band, the Black Eyed Peas, will launch their “3008” Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood in February.
