HOUSTON, Texas – Police have identified the woman accused of tying up her 7-year-old daughter and locking her in a dog cage for hours as 55-year-old Rose Marie Anderson. Anderson is facing two felony charges: unlawful restraint and injury to a child.

According to court documents, on December 13th, just days before Christmas, Anderson allegedly confined her daughter in a dog cage placed next to a Christmas tree. The girl’s arms were reportedly zip-tied, and her mouth was duct-taped shut. Police allege Anderson repeatedly kicked the cage while the child was inside. The alleged reason for this punishment was the child’s misbehavior at school.

Anderson is currently being held in jail on a $40,000 bond.
