Mercado Libre Net Payout Calculator — What You Actually Receive per Sale

A Mercado Libre sale price is not what lands in your Mercado Pago account. Between the two sit the selling commission for your category and listing type, a fixed per-unit fee that applies to low-priced items in Mexico, and the shipping cost whenever you offer free shipping or absorb the label. This Mercado Libre net payout calculator runs the full deduction: enter the price and quantity, pick an indicative commission, adjust the fixed-fee tiers if your category differs, add the shipping you actually pay — and see the net payout, the net per unit and the platform’s total take as a percentage.

Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded. ¿Vendes desde México y prefieres español? La versión en español cubre también las retenciones de IVA e ISR: Calculadora de Comisiones de Mercado Libre México.

How the payout is built

Net payout = (price × units) − commission − (fixed fee × units) − shipping you absorb. The commission is a percentage of the total sale price, and in Mexico it depends on the category and the listing type: as a guide, Clásica listings run roughly 8–17% and Premium listings roughly 11–21.5% across categories (rates checked October 2026 on Mercado Libre’s published cost structure — your category’s exact figure is shown when you publish, so replace the indicative 13% / 17% with yours). Premium costs more because it adds instalments (meses sin intereses) and higher exposure.

The fixed fee Mexico sellers forget

On top of the percentage, Mercado Libre México charges a fixed fee per unit sold on cheaper items: $25 MXN when the price is under $99, $30 MXN from $99 to under $149, and $37 MXN from $149 to under $299; at $299 and above there is no fixed fee. On a $60 item the $25 fixed fee is a bigger bite than a 13% commission — which is why very cheap products are so hard to sell profitably on the platform. The tiers are editable above, because Mercado Libre adjusts them over time and other countries run different tables: Argentina also charges a per-unit fixed fee on low prices (in pesos, updated frequently), while Colombia, Chile and Peru structure their low-price charges differently — always confirm your own country’s table in your account before trusting a number.

Worked example

You sell one item at $500 MXN in Clásica at the indicative 13% and you absorb a $99 shipping label. Commission: $65.00. Fixed fee: $0, because $500 is above the $299 tier. Net payout: $500 − $65 − $0 − $99 = $336.00, a total platform take of 32.8% once shipping is counted. Now drop the price to $199 and sell two units with free shipping handled by the buyer (shipping $0) and a product cost of $80 each: the fixed fee is $37 per unit ($74 total), the commission is $51.74, and the net is $272.26 — $112.26 of profit after product cost. The calculator above reproduces both cases exactly.

What this calculator does not deduct

Tax withholdings. In Mexico, Mercado Libre withholds IVA and ISR from your payout when you sell through the platform — 8% IVA and 1% ISR if your RFC is registered, and much higher rates (16% / 20%) if it is not. Those withholdings are credits against your taxes rather than pure costs, but they change your cash flow, and they are covered by the Spanish companion tool linked above. Advertising (Product Ads), Full fulfilment storage and returns costs are also outside this calculation — deduct them from the profit line if they apply to you. And treat every prefilled rate as a starting point: platforms change fees, so verify the current figures in your Mercado Libre account.
