Amazon fees are where private-label margins go to die quietly: a referral percentage here, a fulfillment fee there, storage, a surcharge — and the product that looked 40% profitable pays out at 12%. This Amazon FBA fee calculator is built as an honest estimator, not a black box: the referral table by category and the fulfillment table by size tier are Amazon’s published rates, shown in full and editable field by field, so when Amazon changes a number — or your Revenue Calculator quotes you a different one — you change the field, not the tool.
Rates checked on October 23, 2026. Referral fees come from Amazon’s own pricing page (sell.amazon.com/pricing); fulfillment and storage figures come from Amazon’s published 2026 US FBA schedule (the January 15, 2026 rate card, including the 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge added April 17, 2026). Amazon changes these fees, sometimes with little notice: always confirm your exact SKU in Amazon’s free Revenue Calculator before committing to a price. ¿Vendes en Amazon España? The three fees, as Amazon publishes them
Referral fee. A percentage of the total sales price (item + shipping + gift wrap), set by category: 15% for most categories (Home and Kitchen, Toys, Office, Sports, Tools), 8% for Computers, Consumer Electronics and Video Game Consoles, 12% for Automotive and Business/Industrial, 45% for Amazon Device Accessories. Several categories are tiered by price — Clothing is 5% up to $15, 10% to $20, then 17% — and a few are charged per portion: Jewelry pays 20% on the first $250 and 5% only on the part above. Most categories carry a $0.30 minimum referral fee, and media items add a $1.80 closing fee. This calculator implements those structures as Amazon publishes them, not as flat approximations.
FBA fulfillment fee. A per-unit charge by size tier, shipping weight and — since 2026 — price band (under $10, $10–$50, over $50). The table in the calculator uses the published standard-size and bulky rows for the most common weight bands; for weights between rows, pick the closest row or type the exact figure from the Revenue Calculator into the fee field — it is editable for exactly that reason. Since April 17, 2026 Amazon adds a 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge on top of the fulfillment fee; it is a separate, editable line here so you can switch it off if Amazon retires it.
Monthly storage. Charged per cubic foot of your average daily inventory: $0.78 for standard-size from January to September and $2.40 in October–December; $0.56 / $1.40 for oversize. Enter your packaged dimensions and a storage rate, and the calculator converts them to cubic feet and a per-unit monthly cost.
Worked example (the $29.99 kitchen gadget)
Price $29.99, Home and Kitchen (15%), large standard at 12–16 oz, packaged 10 × 8 × 4 in, one month of standard storage, product cost $8, inbound $0.50. The calculator returns: referral fee $4.50, fulfillment fee $4.60 (the $10–$50 band rate), surcharge $0.16, storage $0.14 (0.185 cu ft) — total Amazon fees $9.40, proceeds $20.59, profit $12.09, net margin 40.3%. Change any rate in the tables and the whole result follows, which is the honest way to plan for a fee increase: model next year’s card today.
What this estimator leaves out — on purpose
Per-SKU exactness: Amazon assigns size tiers from its own measurements of your packaged product, and a quarter-inch can move a product between tiers; the Revenue Calculator with your real ASIN is the only exact source. Also excluded: inbound placement fees (they depend on how you split shipments), aged-inventory surcharges (they start at 181 days), returns processing fees (category-dependent), the optional selling-plan fee ($39.99/month Professional or $0.99/item Individual) and advertising. Add your own figures for any of these in the “other cost” field. An estimator that pretends to include everything would be inventing precision; this one shows its tables and its limits.
Frequently asked questions
Where do the rates come from, and when were they checked? Referral rates: Amazon’s official pricing page, checked October 23, 2026. Fulfillment and storage: Amazon’s published 2026 US FBA fee schedule — the rate card effective January 15, 2026 plus the 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge effective April 17, 2026. Amazon updates fees periodically; the date stamp matters.
Why can I edit every fee? Because fees change and because Amazon’s measurement of your product may differ from yours. The tables are starting points from Amazon’s published card — your Revenue Calculator figure always wins, so it always fits in the field.
Peak season? Amazon charges higher fulfillment rates roughly mid-October to mid-January (about $0.32 more per unit on average in recent years) and the higher Q4 storage rate is in the rate selector. For a peak estimate, raise the fulfillment field accordingly.
