James was a devout Christian who found solace and guidance in his faith. He was an active member of Shady Grove Church, where he served as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher. James lived his life according to the teachings of Christ Jesus, leading by example and sharing his love for God with everyone he met.

James was a respected and beloved member of the Cullman community. He was an avid farmer, tending to his livestock and growing vegetables with meticulous care. He enjoyed helping his neighbors, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Funeral Services

Funeral services for James Esburn Hays will be held on Wednesday afternoon, May 29, 2024, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m., with funeral services following at 4 p.m. Burial will follow services in Duck River Cemetery.
