Jennifer Melissa Wintheiser, a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2024, surrounded by her adoring family. She succumbed to cancer after a valiant and inspiring fight.
Born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on March 19, 1971, Jennifer grew into a bright and ambitious young woman. She graduated from Lincoln Senior High School in 1989 and went on to attend Mankato State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance.
In 1996, she married her college sweetheart, Craig Wintheiser. Together, they built a beautiful life full of love and laughter, raising their two exceptional children, Jacob and Addison. Jennifer loved and supported her children unconditionally, becoming their biggest cheerleader in the rink as a dedicated hockey mom. Her unwavering presence at countless hockey games and practices left an unforgettable mark on both her children and the entire hockey community.
Passion for Crafting and Community
Beyond her role as a hockey mom, Jennifer possessed an extraordinary passion for crafting. She spent countless hours creating exquisite quilts and intricate cross-stitch masterpieces. Her creations brought joy to the lives of many and showcased her exceptional artistic talent. As an active member of a thriving community of stitchers, Jennifer’s influence extended far and wide, inspiring countless others to explore the joys of crafting.
Legacy of Organ Donation and Advocacy
Jennifer’s unwavering belief in the power of organ donation led her to make a remarkable contribution by donating a kidney to her father in 2012. This selfless act saved her father’s life and exemplified her compassionate spirit. Following her donation, Jennifer became an ardent advocate for organ donation, sharing her story and encouraging others to consider the life-saving benefits of this gift.

Celebration of Life and Memorials
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Jennifer’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 4-8 PM at the White Funeral Home, 20134 Kenwood Trail, Lakeville, MN. The following day, Wednesday, June 12, 2024, a Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 AM, also at the White Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation in Jennifer’s honor. By contributing to this organization, you will help support her legacy of advocating for organ donation and providing essential services to those affected by kidney disease.
