Norma C. Ensley, a pillar of the Vallejo community for over eight decades, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, May 14, 2024, at the age of 82. Born in San Antonio, Texas on December 12, 1941, Norma’s life was marked by unwavering determination, a love for her family and community, and a passion for her hobbies.

Family and Friends

Norma grew up in a loving family and eventually relocated to Vallejo, where she established deep roots. She leaves behind her brother Douglas Thomas (Cheryl), sister Shirley Stanley (Bob), stepson Richard Ensley, stepdaughter Linda Ensley, four cherished granddaughters, and numerous adored nieces and nephews.

Norma was predeceased by her devoted husband, Leon Ensley; her parents, Folen and Dora Thomas; and her sisters, Shelia Lunch and Barbara Chavez.

Community Involvement

Norma’s commitment to her community was evident in her active involvement in several organizations. She was a valued member of the Vallejo Women’s Club, Elks Lodge, and Women of the Moose. Through these platforms, she dedicated her time and efforts to enriching the lives of others.

Passions and Hobbies

Beyond her community service, Norma had a rich and varied array of personal interests. She possessed a keen eye for crafts, expressing her creativity through beautiful handmade items. Bowling and collecting dolls were also among her beloved hobbies.

Norma was a dedicated sports enthusiast, with a particular affinity for the San Francisco Giants and the 49ers. She rarely missed a game and could engage in lively conversations about their performance, sharing her vast knowledge about both teams.

A Love for Animals

Norma’s heart extended to the furry and adorable creatures of the animal kingdom. Over the years, she shared her life with countless cats and two beloved Pomeranian dogs, whom she cherished deeply.

Celebration of Life

Funeral services will be held on June 1, 2024, at Skyview Memorial Lawn at 11:30 a.m., followed by an immediate interment.

Norma’s passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her unwavering spirit, kindness, and passion for life will continue to inspire her family, friends, and the entire Vallejo community.
