Waterville Man, Arnold J. Dore, Passes Away at 2024

Obituary

Arnold J. Dore, 80, a resident of Waterville, Maine, passed away peacefully at his home on July 15, 2024. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Arnold was born in Waterville on September 23, 1944. He was the son of Joseph and Mary Dore. He attended Waterville High School and graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a degree in business administration.

After college, Arnold returned to Waterville where he worked for his father’s business, Dore’s Market. He eventually took over the business and ran it for many years. Arnold was a hard worker and a dedicated businessman. He was also a kind and generous man who was always willing to help others.

Arnold was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was also an avid sports fan and loved cheering on the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.

Arnold will be deeply missed by his wife of 58 years, Mary; his children, Michael Dore and his wife, Sarah, of Waterville, and Karen Dore of Portland; his grandchildren, Matthew and Emily Dore; his brother, Joseph Dore, Jr. of Waterville; and his sister, Mary Dore of Augusta.

Life Celebration

A celebration of Arnold’s life will be held at his home on August 10, 11 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
