Farmingdale Resident Gail Parker Passes Away

Gail Parker, a longtime resident of Farmingdale, passed away on July 17, 2024. She was 65 years old.

Parker was born in Augusta, Maine, and raised in Farmingdale. She graduated from Farmingdale High School in 1977 and went on to earn a degree in nursing from the University of Maine at Augusta. She worked as a registered nurse for over 30 years, most recently at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta.

Parker was an active member of her community. She volunteered her time with the local food pantry and the American Red Cross. She was also a member of the Farmingdale Historical Society and the Farmingdale Lions Club.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, John Parker; her two children, Jennifer Parker and Christopher Parker; and her three grandchildren, Emily, Ethan, and Evan.

A visitation will be held on August 8th from 1-2 p.m. at Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home in Augusta. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m.

Gail Parker, 65, of Farmingdale, Maine, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Gail was born in Augusta, Maine, on January 10, 1959, to parents John and Mary Smith. She grew up in Farmingdale and graduated from Farmingdale High School in 1977. She went on to earn a degree in nursing from the University of Maine at Augusta.

Gail worked as a registered nurse for over 30 years, most recently at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. She was a dedicated and compassionate nurse who loved helping others. She was also a strong advocate for her patients and their families.

Gail was an active member of her community. She volunteered her time with the local food pantry and the American Red Cross. She was also a member of the Farmingdale Historical Society and the Farmingdale Lions Club.

Gail was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was always putting others before herself and was always there for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Gail is survived by her husband of 42 years, John Parker; her two children, Jennifer Parker and Christopher Parker; her three grandchildren, Emily, Ethan, and Evan; her sister, Susan Smith; and her brother, Michael Smith.

A visitation will be held on August 8th from 1-2 p.m. at Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home in Augusta. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gail’s memory to the American Red Cross or to the local food pantry.
